ACL stands for Access Control List and is a known method in computer programming for restricting access to certain features based on the user's known identity.

manacle.js does the same, allowing and/or limiting access to certain actions based on the user ID/name.

manacle.js works with client-side (browsers) and server-side (Node.js) environments.
