jQuery.Maxlength can be used to count characters inside form text fields and textareas.

It can work in a simple mode or with a limit imposed, always reporting on typed in characters and the amount of free characters left.

A demo is included with the download package.

Requirements:

· JavaScript enabled on client side
· jQuery 1.4 or higher
