cssParentSelector is a jQuery plugin, a polyfill for browser clients to support the parent selector pattern implemented in the CSS 4 standard (work in progress).

This allows more complicated CSS rules to be written and properly interpreted by older browsers, which have no CSS 4 support.

An example and usage instructions are included with the download package.
