Apache cTAKES stands for clinical Text Analysis and Knowledge Extraction System.

cTAKES allows developers to analyze text for medical terms and pass the data for further processing to the according software.

The Apache cTAKES system is closely integrated with Unified Medical Language System (UMLS), providing relevant results and accurate data processing.

Limitations:

· The project is still under development in the Apache Incubator repository and might change drastically from version to version.
