"tel:' links are HTML anchor elements pointing to telephone numbers.

On mobile devices, when pushed, the number is automatically dialed and called from that device.

The Tel jQuery plugin is for devices that can't make phone calls.

It helps gracefully degrade these kind of links by presenting the phone number to be dialed instead of redirecting the user to an error screen.
